Twins?

Well, well, I knew my kids look alike as babies but this just proves it all. When I showed friends who came by this image, which is used as the background of our desktop, most would not have guessed it was two different babies. Had it not been for the pink pyjamas that Laetitia had on, I would not be able to tell the difference too.

Laetitia and Loïc.

Two months old check up

Well, he is slightly more than two months old, two months 7 days to be exact. He has grown, A LOT!

1) Weight - He is now 5.80 kg as compared to 4.20kg at the one month old checkup.

2) Length - He is now 58.5cm as compared to 53.5cm at the one month old checkup.

3) Head circumference - His head circumference is now 40cm.

He is in the 75th to 90th percentile on all measurements. I think I might have a little giant here. He is fast outgrowing his clothes so I have to constantly get new stuff for him.

He is also sleeping for longer periods in the night now. As of a couple of weeks ago, he started sleeping for 6 hours stretch after his last feed at 9pm and would wake up for a feed around 3am or so. After that, he would sleep for another 3 hours and wake up around 6am for another feed before going back to sleep and waking up at 9am to start the day. Sometimes he would miss this 6am feed and wake up at about 8am to feed and start the day.

Brother and sisterly love

My two little ones adore each other and it is really heartwarming to see how Laetitia is caring towards her little brother. She is always asking to give hugs and kisses or to carry him in her arms. Most of the time it's all quite harmless except for the rare occasion when she tries to lift him up to carry him in her arms all by herself. Well, Loïc is about half her weight so not only is it difficult for her to lift him up but also dangerous should she drop him due to her lack of strength. However, aside from that, I usually am able to leave them together in the room for a short time while keeping my ears and eyes open. Loïc's face would also light up when his sister is around.

Leaning to write

Laetitia learnt her alphabets (both reciting and recognizing) a while ago and I've recently started to get her to write her name. This is what she is capable of doing. The top was done by tracing the dots that I had plotted out for her and the bottom, she did it freehand.

Saturday outings with Laetitia

Now that we have a sort of routine going, every Saturday morning, I will leave Loïc with his papa and spend some one to one time with Laetitia. We would usually take the public transport, especially the bus as she loves to go on the bus, to somewhere together. Last Saturday we went to Hôtel de ville where there is a huge merry-go-round and we went on it together. After that, we had a little break in MacDonalds before going to a outdoor market and finally headed home for lunch. It is really nice being able to spend some time individually with her since I have Loïc with me all the time.

On the merry-go-round by herself. She went on it twice by herself and once with me. It's really expensive this particular merry-go-round, 2,70€ each ride.

And the week before, we went to a little park.

Falling into a routine.

Loïc is growing well, he is about 5kgs and he is falling more into a routine now. He feeds about seven times a day, starting the day with a feed at about 8am followed by 11am, 2pm, 5pm and 8pm before being put to bed. The last feed is usually the longest lasting about 30 mins whereas the rest of the feeds are about 10-15 mins. And then he wakes up twice in the night at about 1am and 5am for his other two nursing sessions.

He sleeps a lot less in the day now and of course is a bit more demanding with his need for attention.

Here's some photos from the last weeks.

Jardin d'acclimatation

Today we took the car and went out to have a picnic in the jardin d'acclimatation. This is a huge park with lots of different things to do, they have a little farm, a huge kids amusement area, a playground, a puppet theatre, outdoor golf etc.

We had a wonderful picnic with prawns, chicken, duck liver mousse and pasta. After the lovely picnic, we went to the kids amusement area for some rides. Laetitia was absolute delighted by the place.

Here's some photos of her on the rides.

Picking flowers for me with her papa

And finally at home with the huge Hello Kitty balloon that we got her in the park.
